An Analysis of Research Trend in Experiment Studies of Color Psychology

Abstract
This study analyzes research trend of 33 dissertations and 18 KCI registered journals, total of 51, related color psychology from 2000 to 2020 in Korea. This study suggests more systemic and effective ways of color psychology. The analysis looks for a trend by classifying them into year, objects, topic, methods. And the research methods were analysis standard and reported descriptive statistics by percentile. The results are as follow. First, case studies related to color psychology are continuously being studied, but the number of research publications has not increased since 2014. Second, for study subject, children were the most preferred group, and with regard to the size of experimental groups, the size of 5-10 participants were the most frequent. Third, for topics of research, mental health recovery, self-growth were the most discussed ones. As for the program, art therapy papers using colors were the most. Fourth, integrated research method was the most frequently adopted, and experimental/control groups design were the most preferred. The most frequent sessions per week were once a week, and 51-60 minutes per session was the most. The analysis of study topics and objects, extends of research methods of experiment studies related to color psychology are now expected in the future research.
